Wrap It Up
Being from the Netherlands, with family over there, I can tell you one thing: sending stuff back and forth, is something you have to learn how to do!
Experience has taught us, that if items are not properly packed, they arrive broken. My Mom had sent some things over, packed in a box, but it didn't have any crinkle cut shred in it to protect them. Consequently, several of them were broken, in spite of the warning to 'handle with care'. Things we sent to our daughters arrived in more pieces then they were bought.
What did get through in one piece, was a CD our daughter send us. She had put lots of pictures on it and had send it in one of those mailing bags. That did the trick.
I have learned to I save every piece of bubble wrap, and even gift basket filler, specifically for the purpose of sending gifts which might be fragile. I make sure to wrap it up well and stuff the filler or shred in between.
It already takes a ridiculously long time for packages to arrive. When they finally do, there is nothing more disappointing, then to hear how the gift was all messed up, tore up, and broken.
We learned, eventually!

Oh... this is sad ):
The warm thoughts linger behind each present though.
Audrey,
Yes it is, but as long as you know that, you can take precautions!
It's not the gift, but the intend of the heart, right?! :-)
God's Grace.
