Smart Rain Art: Now You See It, Now You Don't

I suppose we all can associate with that dreary feeling that comes along with those dark, rainy days. Those days are no fun and I have the tendency to just go to sleep until the rays of the sun brighten up the world again.

It is bad enough watching the rain drip from the leaves and the roof. Here in the South, when it rains it pours. Yards and streets turn into ponds you know aren't supposed to be there. I can only imagine how bleak and gloomy all that concrete in the cities must look like.

Well, it doesn't have to. Rain can be fun and turn boring sidewalks, driveways, buildings, and streets into cute, entertaining works of art.

All it takes is a non-toxic, biodegradable and environmental friendly protective coating for wood and stone.

From what I read, the best product is made by the Nanex Company. It is easily applied with a brush, roller, or spray gun.

Once dry, it is invisible until it gets wet.

It would be wise to use a pattern, because the artwork will last for around 4 months up to a year, depending on how much (foot) traffic it has to endure.

You shouldn't encounter any problems with the law. Since it is only temporary art, harmless for both property and environment, and as long as you don't advertise anything, it seems to be totally legal.

There is no doubt in my mind the kids would love this type of art. It's like magic: now you see it, now you don't. I can already hear them sing: 'Rain, rain, come today. Don't wait till another day'!
