Gold Art

The other day I was watching a TV show where people sell or pawn their items, when an artist came in wanting to sell his artwork for more then the price of gold.

Yes, the objects were made out of gold, but he had painted them black, which diminished the gold price and hence the price of his art substantially.

I guess the artist of these pieces knew exactly how and when to buy gold; he must constantly have been checking the gold prices, in order to buy when the price was right.

I didn't know this, but the price of gold is also referred to as gold spot and is another term for searching for gold prices and charts online.

There is no doubt in my mind he knew exactly where to find gold spot, but there was no way to spot gold under the black paint of his artistic expressions.
