About Kurt Wenner

For those of you who are not familiar with and/or have never heard of Kurt Wenner; he is a famous chalk artist who invented and makes incredible 3D pavement art and murals.

Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, he created his first commissioned mural at the age of 16 and started earning a living with street art as a graphic artist just a year later.

He attended the Rhode Island School of Design and the Art Center College of Design, after which he got a job at NASA where he worked as an illustrator, creating conceptual paintings and extraterrestrial landscapes of future space projects.

He did that until 1982, when he sold all his possessions and moved to Italy to study classic Renaissance art. Living in the heart of Rome, he continues to create his gorgeous street art and murals which gained him fame all over the country and eventually all over the world.

After living in Rome for about 25 years, Kurt Wenner came back to the United States, where he still is creating works of art for clients world-wide.

This is pretty much all that is available where it concerns any personal information about Kurt Wenner and you can believe me when I tell you my online search was thorough and extensive.

It so turns out I wasn't the only one who came up empty handed after all that digging, but should more information become available then I will certainly include that in this post!
