Newspaper Art

Well, if there is art made from phone books then undoubtedly there has to be a good use for old newspapers too, right? Right!

I hate to break the news to you, but I found so many examples of hobbies, arts and craft with this media that it almost made my head swim.

It is incredible what all can be done with old news; I came across examples ranging from the traditional use for creating sculptures as you often encounter on floats, to handbags, dresses, waste baskets, flower pots, fruit bowls, wall art, and the list goes on and on.

Even though we often tend to take what we read in the paper with a grain of salt, disagree with it, and usually dump it as soon as we are done, we may want to consider recycling it by giving it another creative purpose.

Much of the current news can be found on the Internet and is often more up to date then the paper version we find on our doorstep and just like the phone book, this way of communication and relating information may be on the verge of disappearing.

I suppose it is all part of life; what is here today could be gone tomorrow!
