Football Art
Football season may be over, but that doesn't mean the sport is no longer being practiced. As a matter of fact, everyone is probably already in training for the next round of competition.
Since this is such a popular sport, I would have expected that many may have come up with ways to use footballs for all kinds of art and craft projects. Well, that expectation was way too high on my part; I found exactly one craft project: a football adorned with sequins and that was it.
In case you are looking for crafts surrounding this important sport item, you will have absolutely no problems coming up with one. There are plenty of edible creations around such as cakes, chocolates, cookies, brownies, Easter eggs, Rice Crispy treats, and many more that please the taste buds.
There is also a lot of nail art, plenty of beads, jewelry, paper maché and clay projects, wreaths, as well as wall art available based upon, surrounding, and/or including footballs. It was just not what I was looking for.
I can not imagine there is no art, craft, or hobby for which footballs would be perfect. I can see how cutting a football length-wise in half, and adhered to a small block of wood, would yield a perfect bowl for keys, mail, candy, etc. Those halves would probably also make great and unique shadow boxes.
These are just a few figments of my imagination, but don't hesitate to pick up the ball and run with it!
