About Denny Dent
Speed painter and also being mentioned as the world's only "rock and roll painter" Dennis Eugene Dent, better known as Denny Dent, was born on April 5, 1948, in Oakland, California.
Denny probably inherited his artistic talent from his mother, who was a painter and according to Denny's grandfather, they were direct descendants from Titian, an Italian painter who lived during the 15th century.
His family, being his mother, grandmother, aunt and uncle, was rather poor and on welfare. Denny dropped out of school in the 10th grade and spent most of his time on alcohol, drugs, and earning a living by doing some commercial art.
When in 1981, living in Las Vegas and trading paintings for drinks, Denny heard about a vigil organized by a radio station in a local park in honor of the first anniversary of John Lennon's death. He called the radio station, told them he could paint with both hands and was invited.
A song played, Denny splashed, dabbed and spilled in his own frantic way with three paintbrushes in each hand and completed Lennon's 6 foot painting within a little over 7 minutes. The crowd was ecstatic and Denny found his calling.
He married Ali Christina Flores and although there are rumors about a daughter and a granddaughter, there is no evidence to be found on the Internet confirming this information. Denny and his wife resided in Denver the last ten years of Denny's life.
He passed away on March 29, 2004, at the age of 55, from kidney and heart complications.

Briana,
Bless your heart and I am sorry for your loss.
Thank you for this confirmation and I am sorry hearing your daughter never got to meet your Dad. I hope that in spite of your relationship with him being so up and down, you still have some good memories to remember him by.
May God bless you and your daughter abundantly.
God's Grace.
