Seat Belt Art

A lot of times I wonder if there is art for and with many items I use on a daily basis, but there are times when I either don't think about posing that question, or simply assume no crafts are done and/or possible with the material in question.

I should know better by now and seat belt art has shown me once again not to dispose of what seems to be a ridiculous question at the time. Yes, there are hobbies evolving around seat belts and lots of arty projects are being created with them.

Some wonderful examples of all that creativity are the throw pillows and these hammocks. The woven design is simple, but gives a great effect and, due to the material, will last for a long time to come.

Fasten your seat belts, because there is more you can do with them; handbags, purses, laptop cases, straps for cameras and laptop cases, cuffs and upholstery for furniture, are just a few of the many possibilities.

Don't run off to your car now to get some materials for all the new ideas which may have popped up in your head. Remember: safety first!
