Peacock Feather Art - Materials and Equipment
I don't have a peacock running around in our yard and I suspect you don't either. That doesn't mean we can not get our hands on some peacock feathers.
I found the ones I used in the flower/plant section of a store where we have a good 'old time' with pottery, but I wouldn't be surprised if you could find them in the larger craft stores that have a section with artificial plants and flowers as well.
Even though there are many projects made with these gorgeous feathers, there are no books or workshops to be found on this art. You may find some examples with instructions online, but that is about it.
As far as other materials go, my guess is you might need some strong glue. It will keep the feathers in place and allows for good adhesion on fabric, shoes, belts and/or paper.
For making a wreath, you can use florist tape or dark colored yarn to wrap around the feathers to keep them in and create a nice circle.
In case you have a pair of old earrings lying around, why not recycle them? You can use the peacock feathers for changing an outdated pair in to a stylish pair.
You may need some other materials for your projects. What those are you will find out as you go along. That's okay, because once you are done; you will be in fine feather!
