Watermelon Carving

You don't have to wait until Halloween to try your hand at carving. At present, there are watermelons galore and they are excellent as refreshment, but also for creating a one of a kind work of carving art.

You would absolutely steal the show dishing up some of this cool, delicious fruit in a unique way, like this shark for instance.

You would need only a few things for that: a sharp knife and a couple of tooth or party picks.

How to tackle the watermelon and transform it into this centerpiece is shown in the video below.

It is a pretty simple and easy project, but if you like to take it a step further you may want to look online for ideas, tutorials, and designs. You wouldn't believe how many examples of watermelon carvings you will find.

Most of them will suit pretty much any occasion, but you will have no problems finding concepts for a specific occasion such as baby showers, sports events, or weddings, anniversaries and birthdays.

The best part of carving a watermelon is that even if your project doesn't turn out the way it should, you can still serve the contents in a (watermelon) bowl.

How cool is that?!
