3D stands for three dimensional and you can use any picture or image you can find, as long as you keep in mind that you will need several identical images for an art project like this.
I used three of the same images. You start out by cutting out the first image and glue it on a background; this can be card/craft paper, CDs, wood or anything else you prefer.
Picture in your mind the next part that would be coming forward and cut it out. To get the depth in the project, I used clear silicone. Put a few dabs on the back of the second part and carefully place it on top of the first one. Repeat this step as often as you like with cut out images that keep getting smaller.

Yes, it is tedious work, but the result is very rewarding. It does put things in perspective! :-)
