CD Art - Materials and Equipment
One of the things you will need of course is old or unused CDs. The next things you will need are: felt or other materials for covering the back, scissors, craft glue, glue gun and glue sticks, a picture frame hanger or a drill for drilling the hole.
Should you decide to make a larger artwork by gluing several CDs together, then don't forget double sided tape or craft paper to do so. Then, depending on what you would like to create, you may need colored paper, silk or dried flowers, small figurines, photos or other cute little pictures like the one in the example at the right.
What I do is apply the 3D technique and I use three of the same pictures to do so. Those can easily be found on the Internet and printed out. Try it; they make lovely gifts for kids' rooms.
I could not find any books on the subject, but I did find several sites online with examples of how to make some unique CD art. Another tip is to go through my art posts; there are several arts and crafts which would lend themselves very well for embellishing a CD.
My suggestion is to try this craft; I think you will enjoy it so much that you will turn up the volume!
