Bead Art - Materials and Equipment

Glass beads, wooden beads, plastic beads, metal beads and beads made out of bone; you name almost any material and you are likely to find beads made out of it.

From itty bitty to large and in all kinds of shapes, beads lend themselves extremely well for a wide array of crafts and arts. It is not a chore either to find them; they can be purchased online and in stores.

Many helpful books with instructions on jewelry making are available, but it is a little harder to find books on other applications of beads. They are around though and an online search should come up with something.

Equipment is depending on what you intend to use the beads for; wire, string, plyers and other materials for jewelry making can be found anywhere. In case you like to glue them on you may need a glue gun or some good craft glue.

Just let your imagination run wild. I can not imagine you can go wrong, on the contrary; I have no doubt your project will end up as a form of art that is quite colorful! :-)

Corry since I retired I have started making beading for friends as presents. Thankfully I found there are so many free resources like beadandbutton.com's. Both patterns and methods available.
