Coin Art

When I was doing research on epoxy art, I came across a paper weight which had coins in it. Now that we all are pinching pennies, we may have so many that we don't know what to do with them. Here are some great ideas of art made from and with coins.

This elaborate picture is entirely made out of coins. By using the different patina of the pennies, it is easy to create highlights and shadow. Dimes and nickles make for a gorgeous reflecting background.

Many artists tend to melt down the currency and use the metal for other types of art, but why would you?

A simple penny can spruce up any dull item and give it the pizazz to make it stand out, like this glass bowl. The coins can simply be glued on to it, giving it a totally different look.

It sure is worth pinching pennies; if not for boosting your savings account, then for boosting your creativity!
