Ice Cream Stick Art - Materials and Equipment

You don't have to eat yourself to oblivion in order to save up Popsicle sticks. They are easily bought online and/or in craft stores and come in packs containing a couple of hundred sticks which are ready to go.

Several instructional videos are found online and so are many craft projects for young and old. You may have a difficult time coming across books and workshops pertaining to this hobby, but a search online will definitely lead you to several excellent projects, examples and instructions.

Depending on your project, you will probably need wood or strong craft glue, paint, stain or Polyurethane. In case you need to cut the sticks to a desired length, a hobby knife is recommended, but they are easily broken by hand as well. Keep some sandpaper handy to smooth out the rough edges.

Simple projects like this photo frame don't require much, but there is always the option of embellishing it with all kinds of other craft materials.

If your project doesn't turn out the way you envisioned, don't worry. Practice makes perfect, so stick with it!
