Downtown Festival & Art Show In Gainesville
For those of you who are looking for inspiration and like to attend an art show, the 32nd, annual Downtown Festival & Art Show is coming up.
It will be open to the public on the weekend of November 15 through November 17 in Gainesville, Florida and starts with some free concerts at 7pm on Friday evening. The fall festival of the arts is open Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
You will be able to admire and purchase the creations from over 250 talented artists who come from all over the nation to show off their work and compete for the cash prizes and purchase awards.
Among their work you will find oil paintings, acrylics, watercolors, sculptures, jewelry, ceramics, and photography, while enjoying live music and dance. Don't worry about food; there are over 20 vendors who sell all kinds of tasty morsels so to speak.
The children will have the time of their lives. At the 'Imagination Station' they can try their hand at making masks, painting, creating buttons, puppets, clay sculptures, and sidewalk chalk drawings or enjoy puppet shows, magic acts, and music performances.
It is too late to apply for a boot. This should have been done before May 10th of this year. You may want to keep in mind applying early for the coming year.
You can however become an art sponsor and by contacting the City of Gainesville Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, you will get all the information needed on how that works and what to do.
You are allowed to bring your best friend, as long as you keep it on a leash. Trying to take in all this art does take a lot of walking, but it is worth it!
