Thomas Kinkade's Economical Impact

Thomas Kinkade refers to himself as 'the Painter of Light' and uses that phrase as a trademarked.

Thomas Kinkade is one of the most widely collected artists at present. His work is mass produced and sold throughout the world and can be bought as prints, calendars, puzzles, greeting cards, CDs, books and all kinds of other collectibles via The Thomas Kinkade Company.

Many books have been written about and also by him and he has licensed his trademark and artwork to all kinds of housing developments as well.

Thomas Kinkade has an impressive list of awards behind his name:
he received the Lithograph of the Year Award nine times already and received awards for being Artist of the Year and Graphic Artist of the Year from the National Association of Limited Edition Dealers (NALED). He won the Collectors Editions Award of Excellence and his works have been named Graphic Art Print of the Year eight times.

He was a charter inductee to the Bradford Exchange's Plate Artist Hall of Fame and inducted into the California Tourism Hall of Fame in 2002, commemorated the Salt Lake City 2002 Olympic Winter Games and the 2002 World Series. NALED awarded Kinkade in 2004 with the Most Award Winning Artist in the Past 25 Years.

Kinkade is also very active for charity and non-profit organizations focusing on children and humanitarian relief. The Make-a-Wish Foundation elected Kinkade as their spokesman in 2003. World Vision, Kolorful Kids, Art for Children Charities, and The Salvation Army have found Kinkade to be a great support to them. Thomas Kinkade has received the World Children's Center Humanitarian Award and the Eugene Freedman Humanitarian Award by NALED for his philanthropy.

It is not difficult to get to know Thomas Kinkade a little better; many well known magazines regularly feature him and he can be seen and heard on popular TV network shows and radio talk shows nationwide.

One thing is for sure: we have neither seen nor heard the last of Thomas Kinkade and his work will touch the hearts of people for generations to come!
