Snow Art II
Snow art is well known and practised around the world. Every year, a snow art festival is held in Sapporo, Japan. This event started in the 1950s and has been held every year ever since with a growing number of artists and visitors from all over the world.
Not all snow art involves packing, building and sculpting. Some of the snow art is done by using the natural material without even moving it.
These colorful paintings are done by using natural food coloring sprinkled on the freshly fallen snow. What a wonderful idea! Simply dilute food color with water, put it in a spray bottle and paint away. I can see this being another snow art festival in the making.
Wouldn't that be something; turning a white, winter landscape in to a riot of colors. That would not only present a challenge to everyone, it would also give everyone something to do.
You better be careful; before you know it you could get snowed under by getting snowed in!
