Wire Art II

The story goes that this art originated in South Africa and was first practiced by children who made their own toys from wire, due to a lack of toys and/or money to buy them. Later on, the grown ups saw a market for it and started selling it to tourists.

Most of the time wire is used to make jewelry and bend and sculpted in to the most intricate shapes. In case you already have some experience with that, it would be pretty simple to create some wall art with the beading wire.

You can slowly progress from there on to 3D sculptures, which you can mount on a wooden pedestal, or shape in such a way that they will be able to stand by themselves. Try it and see what works best for you. I suppose eventually .....

it all comes down to the wire!
