Leroy Neiman's Economical Impact
Just as impressive as Leroy Neiman's work, are his achievements and social and economical impact.
He for instance sponsored and supported several organizations across the nation to encourage activities pertaining to art for underprivileged children. This resulted in the opening of the first LeRoy Neiman Art Center for Youth in San Francisco in 2000 and several would follow shortly after, like the LeRoy Neiman Art Center for Youth in Watsonville, California in 2001, one in San Francisco, California in 2005, and in 2006 another one at Pier 9 San Francisco.
The Arts Horizons LeRoy Neiman Art Center in Harlem, the LeRoy Neiman Center for Print Studies at Columbia University in New York and scholarships at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago were also established by this talented artist and yielded him the Paul Newman Award Recipient for Services to the Arts and Children later on.

- Honorary Doctor of Letters Degree, Franklin Pierce College, New Hampshire.
- Honorary Doctor of Arts Degree, St. John's University, New York.
- Honorary Doctor of Arts Degree, Hofstra University, New York 1998.
- Honorary Doctor of Arts Degree, St. Francis College, New York.
- Honorary Doctor of Arts Degree, St. Bonaventure University, New York.
- Honorary Doctor of Arts, School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Leroy Neiman was also introduced into the Las Vegas and the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame and not long ago received The Order of Lincoln, given by The Lincoln Academy of Illinois, during the celebrations of the 200th birthday of Abraham Lincoln.
