Optical Illusion Art IV

I found this to be one of the best optical illusions I have come across so far. My initial reaction was how pretty this young woman was dressed. However, on second glance, the old woman has one huge chin.

Yup, there is both an old and a young woman in the picture. If you see only the old woman, consider her eye to be the ear and her nose as the jaw line of a young woman, who has her head turned away.

When you see only the young woman, then imagine the young woman's ear as the eye and her jawline as the large nose. The necklace are the lips of the older woman and she is facing more directly left. It is very cleverly done!

This is one of the Hermann Grid illusions. Hermann Grid was a physiologist in the 19th century and discovered this optical illusion in 1870. It is one of the brain deceiving images; try to count all the grey dots at the intersections of the white lines.

When you focus on one of the intersections you will come to the conclusion that there is no grey dot. True enough; there aren't any at all, but as soon as you look away, the dots will sneak back into your range of vision.

Ain't that something?!
