Our Little Rock Star

One of the things our little Casey loves, is music.

Ever since he was about 6 months old, he would hop up and down, whenever he heard any kind of music. These days, he swings back and forth and any toy that plays a sound, has his undivided attention.

The other day, he was exploring our bedroom. The guitar, leaning against the dresser, caught his eye and he stopped in front of it. His little hand approached the strings and much to my surprise, he started picking them, as if he had done it all his life.

I was astonished and mentioned it to his Mom and Dad. They told me, little Casey has been 'practising' on his Daddy's guitar several times. Apparently, he holds it the right way and knows exactly how to do it.

Hmmm, a little rock star in the making? :-)

Family Complete

The kids are going to be living with us for a while, so they can catch up financially and fix up their little place in the meantime. That puts the entire family together, in our house.

Even though it may be cramped a bit, we do have the space. A little rearranging goes a long ways. Yeah, concessions have to be made and rules have to be set in place. Needs come before wants and we like for everyone to be comfortable and respect and regard each other.

We will manage, I have no doubt. We are looking forward to seeing our grand sons' smiling faces every morning. I suppose, you know what that means...

Many more posts about our little critters and what they are up to. I hope you are looking forward to them.

I am! :-)

A Great Accomplishment

Our youngest grand son is not wasting any time, growing up. The little critter can barely crawl, but managed to do the unexpected.

Yesterday, he managed to crawl towards the toy-basket, sat up on his knees and had a great time grabbing any toy that came within his reach. And then, before we knew it, he stood up, balancing himself by holding the rim of the basket.

We all were in awe of this action and when we finally fully comprehended, what he had accomplished, we praised and cheered. That resulted in a wide grin on his little face and a few coos.

Hmmm, I wonder if our little critter is going to be a stand-up comedian. If so, I can assure you, he already has the biggest fan ever. His Oma! :-)

Splish Splash

Swimming is one of the best exercises for Rheumatoid Arthritis, Arthritis related conditions and diseases. It is fun as well and I always envisioned, having a pool in the back yard, some day.

With our grand sons growing up, the desire is growing as well. Just the thought, of teaching those critters to swim and seeing them splashing around in the pool, sends a smile to my face. But..., Oma would love to be able to do some laps herself, as well.

It is not difficult to find all Pool Supplies for the cheapest price, so that would not cause a problem. The field-lines in our back yard are. It does not mean, we could not have a pool, it would just have to be a small one.

That would still be better than nothing. Like my grand father used to say: "If you can't appreciate the small, you are not worthy of any at all."

Actions Speak Louder

Our oldest grand son catches on quick. He has learned the meaning of shaking his head and makes good use of it as well.

The other day, while I was feeding him his supper, he started shaking 'no' and turned his head away. Hmmm, I wondered what that was about. He loved what was dished up and that little tummy definitely was not full. He only had taken a few bites.

Surprised as I was, I asked: "No more bite?" and held the spoon up. A 'no'-shake answered that question, but his actions spoke louder than words.

Carefully, he grabbed the spoon from my hand, brought it to his mouth and managed to get most of the food in his mouth. Some spilled on the floor and he leaned over to see where it went, then looked up at me. His big eyes filled with question-marks and a Uhh? sound came from his lips.

"Don't worry about it. We will pick it up later."

Put at ease, he concentrated on the plate and tried to scoop some food on the spoon. He succeeded in doing so several times, and I was gracefully allowed to help him in his endeavor.

Aha! So that was, what that shaking no was all about. He wanted to do it himself.

I suppose it is time for Oma to catch on, huh?! :-)

Leading The Way

Lil' Casey discovered something new. He comes up to me, takes my hand and wants me to come with him. Where to? Where ever his mind is set on.

He did that several times, the other day, and seemed to enjoy doing it. Sometimes, it had a purpose. Sometimes, it seemed just for fun. And one time... he really was being a smarty-pants!

He knows, we don't like him being in the kitchen without supervision. He gets in to everything he can, especially the fridge. When he goes there by himself, we either summon him back, or go and get him. He pushes the envelope though and after several warnings, he got himself in 'time-out'.

He used that well by figuring out a solution. He grabbed my hand, led me to the kitchen and started playing. I could not help but laugh at such wisdom: If I can't go there by myself, you come with me!

Sometimes I wonder, whether he is leading me by the hand, or by the nose, haha.

A Flawless Look

I am a fervent make-up user. Especially, now that I am getting older, age spots and spider veins are showing up in abundance.

I used to apply foundation and powder, to try and create a flawless look. It did not work too well, unless I would use a lot. I would have to cover it to a point, where my face would crack, if I would smile.

Not too long ago, I got curious about all the positive noises I heard on Mineral Makeup. So, when I ran out of foundation, I decided to give it a go. Well, guess what?! I love it and never will go back to foundation and powder again!

It gives a great coverage, a perfect natural look, and even without any make-up, my skin looks a lot healthier.

Try it. I assure you, you will be pleasantly surprised!

Forward Motion

Our youngest grand son is crawling!

We haven't seen him do it yet, but it was quite obvious the last time we saw him, that it would not take long anymore, before he would.

He was wobbling back and forth on his hands and knees. He made the crawl movement with his little legs, but hadn't figured out, he had to move his hands as well.

He actually tried to stand up. Scooting his little feet up on the floor, lifting that little booty up in the air, you would think he was going to stand up any moment. My suspicion is, it will not be long, before he will be standing up and walk as well.

But... he is crawling. Even though, according to his Mom, it is a slow crawl, he is making forward motion.

Way to go, little dude! Oma is proud of you. :-)

No Biggy

Our lil' Casey keeps amazing me. He is now 19 months old, but he does things I never suspected a boy his age could and would already have figured out.

He was playing with an old phone, I gave him, since he loves to talk on and play with them. The phone had a long cord on it, but that did not seem to bother him at all.

I kept a close eye on him, because I anticipated he might get entangled in it. At one point, he had it wrapped around his little waist and I was about to jump up an help him out.

Before I even got on my feet, he turned around and around, until he got the cord off of him. No problem whatsoever. It all seemed so natural to him, both Opa and I were watching him do it and were totally baffled!

Wow, he sure seems to be a thinker. And a clever little critter as well. :-)

Devine Design

At times, I get this urge to want to change my website. A new look, a bit of rearranging, adding something, taking off some things here and there, it might be needed.

When I consider how much work it really involves, I don't want to bother with it anymore. It is too much, takes up time I don't have and I lack the expertise.

Just imagine, having to do your own website, when you have a business. Living near Louisville Web Design is no problem. eLink Design would come up with the most appropriate template and design, suiting your business.

In addition, search engine optimization, multi-media production, Intranet and application development, and web hosting, are included in the package.

That is not something I could achieve by doing it myself!

Memory Lane

I have been posting much about our grand sons and their little escapades, tiffs, actions and reactions. I thought it was cute to share and also because I am a proud Oma, grin.

I got to think, that once the boys had learned how to read, they might get a kick out of those posts. It sure would be funny if their kids could read it as well. But hey, by that time I may not even be on here anymore and all those posts might get lost.

So, I came up with a solution. A Memory Book for each one of the boys. I am going to print all those posts out and save them in, what may turn out to be, a scrap book.

That way, it will be saved for posterity and we can have a walk down Memory Lane, whenever we want! :-)

Grandpa's Motto

My grandfather was a real trader. Yeah, typical Dutch, haha. He knew how to make money in almost anything.

One of the things he would do, he would stop by the side of the road, pick up empty soda and beer bottles, return them to the store and collect the deposit.

Every now and then, he would go to the dump and spent half a day, walking around on it, looking at what people had thrown out. Anything he thought might still have some value, he would bring home, polish it up, or restore it and hold a barn-sale. He made quite some extra money with this.

One time, as he was telling me what he had found beside the road, he said to me that many people might think he would be crazy for doing so. He mentioned how he didn't mind and told me the following: "If you can not appreciate the small, you are not worthy of any at all!"

I never thought he was crazy for doing all those things. I considered it to be quite ingenious. :-)

Snoozing Baby

Our daughter sent us this picture of little Leo, last week. He was having a blast, bouncing up and down, until all of a sudden, he fell asleep.

Isn't that adorable? He seems comfy where he is at, although I can not imagine it is a very comfortable position to be in. I suppose, when you are tired enough, you sleep anywhere, huh?

I am guessing he was jumping, trying to catch some Zzzzs. Seems like he was successful at it. :-)

What Are Those?

Not too long ago, our youngest grand son made a huge discovery. Actually, he made two discoveries: his feet! They fascinate him to no end and he can spend quite a while grabbing them, examining them and munching on his little toes.

It is funny to see, how he frowns his little head, as he observes his little extremities. Especially his toes. Those things seem to wobble in every direction and he still hasn't found out, he is doing it himself.

It will not be long before he will. They grow up so fast. A little too fast to my likings. :-)

Love is.... II

As promised, here are the rest of the answers given by children, to the question "what is love?".

'Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.'
Tommy - age 6

'During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore.'
Cindy - age 8

'My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.'
Clare - age 6

'Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.'
Elaine-age 5

'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.'
Chris - age 7

'Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.'
Mary Ann - age 4

'I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.'
Lauren - age 4

'When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.'
Karen - age 7

'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross.'
Mark - age 6

'You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.'
Jessica - age 8

And the final one. The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.

Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy answered, 'Nothing, I just helped him cry'.

I can completely understand why the last one would be the winner. The compassion displayed by this little 4-year old is so heart-warming. Like a true friend, he shared in the bad times and not only in the good ones.

May we all have many good friends like that and may this little kid only grow in his love and care for others.

The Beauty Of The Prom

Being from the Netherlands, I was not accustomed to Proms. I have to admit, I like everything and anything about it. The excitement, the anticipation and even the frustration and hectic times of finding a dress, deciding on a hair-do, and what Prom Makeup to wear.

Our youngest looked so beautiful, when she went to the Prom. I had done the honors of fixing her hair, the way she liked it and her make-up was immaculate. Needless to mention, that we were proud parents. :-)

On The Ball

Our oldest daughter has become more and more interested in finding her own little place, lately. It is understandable to have that desire, but it sure is not an easy task.

Even though there are so many houses on the market, it is difficult to find one, that fits her budget. Buying is practically out of the question, so it would have to be a rental. Preferably one that would allow pets and is situated in a nice, safe environment.

She would love to live in a town home, or a nice apartment. Lexington apartment rental would suit her to a tee. Maybe some day she will be able to afford it. For now, we are just glad to have her with us. :-)

Ike

We have been watching hurricane Ike closely. Even though we are out of the danger-zone, for which we are so grateful, we will get some storm surge and the potential of flooding is great.

We thought Katrina was enormous, but Ike is even larger. Not our area, but mainly the coastal communities and the Island, will have to deal with great amounts of water.

It is nothing compared to those who take a direct hit and we keep all of them in our prayers. Hopefully, the damage will be minimal. Although as it is beating and raging through Texas right now, that is highly unlikely.

I hate hurricane season. I am sure, many will sympathize.

A World Of Difference

We have been watching 'America's Next Top Model' a couple of times. For those of you who do not know it, the show is presented by Tyra Banks. She is a top model herself.

Tyra always looks very beautiful. I know from experience, wearing make-up makes a world of difference. There is no doubt in my mind, that Tyra uses the best African American cosmetics, to accomplish that even toned, radiant look.

I am always astonished, to see the transformation of all the competitors. It is incredible, what a difference a little make-up can do. I should not be so surprised. All I have to do, is look in the mirror and see the before and after.

Yeah, it takes quite some good make-up, to transform this old hag in to a decent looking person. :-)

Bird's Eye View

We love to look at real estate. We often go exploring, driving through subdivisions, admiring the houses and their locations.

At rare occasions, we even looked online, but that did not give us a good impression of the environment. The best way to buy and sell a house, or property, is to go there and check it out. That takes up a lot of time, effort and money.

Being a Scottsdale Real Estate Agent, The Holm Group found the perfect solution. Online, you can see both the house and/or property and where and how it is situated. All from the convenience of your home, all in a bird's eye view.

That makes buying and selling real estate a very pleasant experience. And our exploring as well!

Love is .....

I received this in the mail, a while back. It touched my heart to read all those different answers. Some were cute, some funny, but several are extremely observant and insightful.

A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, 'What does love mean?'

'When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love.'
Rebecca- age 8

'When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.'
Billy - age 4

'Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.'
Karl - age 5

'Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.'
Chrissy - age 6

'Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.'
Terri - age 4

'Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.'
Danny - age 7

'Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss'
Emily - age 8

'Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.'
Bobby - age 7

'If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate,'
Nikka - age 6

'Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.'
Noelle - age 7

Kids see and hear a lot more then we think, or give them credit for. What I like most is, they don't over-complicate things. Maybe we all should be more child-like. Life might be a bit easier. :-)

These are only part of all the answers given. I will share the rest of them soon.

Safety and Security

Being from the Netherlands, I found some American customs, that I was not used to. One of them was, having both cake and ice cream served up together and another one was, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Another great custom is the traffic control by police officers, especially with funerals and traffic coming from church on Sunday mornings. That was something I was not used to, but it made quite an impression.

Safety and security I consider to be of the utmost importance, whether it be for an event, or to protect your business. In phoenix law enforcement can be requested, whenever it is needed. It also is available for the greater Phoenix area and throughout Arizona.

It is nice to know, there are registered police officers watching over and watching out for you!

Critter's Ramblings I

Hey, you guys! Long time, no talk. I know Oma is keeping y'all up to date on my escapades and those of my brother. However, I told her it was time for me to visit with y'all. So...., here I am.

I am getting really good at operating the computer. I pound the keys, use the mouse and manage to do things, that make even Opa scratch his head. I am particularly fond of the 'escape' key. It makes things disappear, you know?! :-D

I changed the title of my post from cooings to ramblings. Cooing is for babies! Both me and my bro are babbling a lot. Okay, Leo has got me beat. That dude rambles so much, I sometimes think his tongue is going to fall off.

He says "Hi" to y'all. He is way too busy to try and get to stand up, when he is on his hands and knees. He conveniently forgets, that he needs to learn how to crawl first. Geezzz, I gotta teach him everything. When I try, he just grins at me. Oh well, he will figure it out.

Guess what?! I had my first haircut yesterday. Yep, Mom whacked off all my curls. So, overnight I went from

baby-boy

to little man.

Oma thinks, I still look as handsome as ever. But of course, how could I not, hehe.

I am trying to act like a little man as well. That means, no more diapers. Yup, I ditched them again last week. Mom was on the phone and I took the opportunity to take my diaper off, ran around and played a bit. I felt something rumbling in my tummy. Uh oh, I needed to get a big load off of me.

Since I am not very well skilled in communicating through words, I communicated it to Mom in my own way. I ran up to her, turned around and dumped it on her foot. I misunderstood. I thought it was 'to dump it on some one's feet', instead of 'at some one's feet'. I am learning, hehe.

Well, time for me to go. I got so many things to do and explore, but I will try to be back soon. If not, I will instruct Oma to post something on my behalf. I know she will. :-)

Egg Art Deserves Attention

The other day, I told you I was going to look for more different forms of art. Here is one, that blew my mind, egg art!

I was aware of the existence of egg art, but most of them involve porcelain, wood, or other materials. L.D Bolton Arts however, uses real shells, mainly geese eggs and sometimes also chicken, ostrich, or other eggs.

Looking at all those precise and detailed carved and crafted eggs, I can only imagine how much love and time must have been involved in each of those delightful creations.

This is my favorite. It represents the beauty, fulfillment and satisfaction that comes, after taking on the challenge to accomplish what seems almost impossible.

You may think, because of Salmonella, bird flu and whatever else, working with eggs might be unhealthy. All these egg shells are treated and sanitized, so there is no hazard of any infection at all. That is good to know.

Custom pieces can be made upon request. It surely is not your every day gift and a very special and unique form of art, that deserves to be brought under the attention. Much more attention!

A Mile-Stone

I know there are many women out there, who like to keep their age a mystery. I am not one of them and never have been. I don't mind at all for people to know my age.

I usually don't give much rumor to my Birthday. It is just another day to me. Daily life goes on and work continues. The extra love, care and attention of my loved ones make it special though. In that light, I have to admit and confess, that every day is my Birthday! :-)

Today however, I do give some rumor to it. It is a mile-stone. Why? I am not quite sure. It probably is something that is ingrained by society. I don't feel any different then all the years before, but... yeah, the big 50 is something special. So, there you have it!

I know, I will never grow as old as I look, haha.

A Clear Expression

Lil' Kc, our oldest grand son, is getting pretty good in expressing himself. Not so much in words yet, but definitely in his actions.

Whenever his cup is empty, he usually comes up to me and hands it over. He then walks up to the kitchen and while doing so, looks over his shoulder if I am tagging along.

When I am not quick enough, he gestures with his little arm as a sign, meaning "Come on". He stops in front of the fridge, opens it and waits till I get out his juice. All this is his way of asking for a refill.

The other day, much to our surprise, he walked up to Opa and handed him his empty cup. Opa didn't get it right away. Not even when lil' Kc walked up to the fridge and gestured. I told Opa, his grand son was asking for a refill, but I didn't have to.

Apparently, it took a bit too long to suit our little rascal. He looked at Opa and said loud and clear: "Empy!" There was nothing to misunderstanding about that and he got a refill.

He sure has got his way of expressing himself. And of wrapping us around his cute little finger! :-)

Xbox 360 or Nintendo Wii

While the kids were staying with us, seeking shelter from tropical storm Fay, their place got robbed. Son-in-law's Xbox 360, got stolen, along with all his games and some other things. it was his only form of entertainment, after a long day's work.

He, as well as our daughter, loved to play Guitar Hero III, Legends of Rock and both were very skilled at it. Sadly, they will have to do without for a while, since they can't afford to buy a new one. But... the Holidays are coming up. You never know, what Santa might stuff down the chimney.

Since they would have to start from scratch, I wonder if they would be more interested in the Nintendo Wii. If I had to choose, I probably would go for the last. I certainly could use the exercise. I can imagine, after a hard day at work, he could use some physical down time.

Either way, we still have a few months to ponder upon some gifts. A good thing, they are easy to find!

Fruitsy Art III

Fruits and vegetables are not only tasty and healthy, but lend themselves for bursts of creativity. Not only on a culinary level, but also on an art level.

Wrong turn by Poseidon.

Breathing room.

Hydrant addiction

Passing the bar.

De-pressing situation

Counting sheep.

Pretty crafty, huh?!
All kinds of arts and crafts spark my interest and I am aware there are a gazillion out there. I intend to find more interesting and unusual creativity and share it with you.

You never know, some may be just up your alley and you may find you have the ability and talent for it. They neither have to cost an arm and a leg, nor do they have to require special tools and/or craft supplies, as you can see above.

They may be tasty, but not costly! :-)

What would you say?

When I attended college, I had a math teacher who had a very unusual way of finding out, who understood and who didn't. Each class, he would start by giving the answers to the home-work of the previous day and would ask who had a different answer.

He would write down the names of those who raised their hand, pick one and call them to the black board and have them redo the same problem. He was rather cynical and sarcastic and had a condencending remark for each of them.

After having found that out, you probably can imagine, not many hands were raised, grin.

Boudreaux, a redneck to the core, had a bad vehicle accident, caused by a truck. In court, the trucking company's fancy lawyer was questioning Boudreaux.

"Didn't you say, at the scene of the accident, "I'm fine"?" the lawyer asked.

Boudreaux responded: "Let me told you what happened. Me, I had jus loaded my favorite mule Bessie, into da . . "

"I didn't ask for any details," the lawyer interrupted. "Just answer the question. Did you not say, at the scene of the accident, "I'm fine!"?"

Boudreaux said: "I had jus got Bessie into da trailer and I was driving down da road . . ."

The lawyer interrupted again and said : "Judge, I am trying to establish the fact, that at the scene of the accident, this man told the Highway Patrol man on the scene, that he was just fine. Now, several weeks after the accident, he is trying to sue my client. I believe he is a fraud. Please tell him to answer the question."

By this time, the Judge was fairly interested in Boudreaux's answer and said to the lawyer: "I would like to hear what he has to say about his favorite mule, Bessie."

Boudreaux thanked the Judge and proceeded: "I had just loaded Bessie, my favorite mule, into da trailer and was driving her down da highway, when dis huge semi-truck and trailer ran da stop sign and smacked my truck right in da side. Me, I was thrown into one ditch and Bessie was thrown into da udder. I was hurting real bad and didn't want to move at all. But, I could herd ole Bessie moanin and groanin. Me, I knew she was in some kind o' terrible shape just by her groans.

Shortly after da accident, a Highway Patrol man, he came on da scene. He herd Bessie moanin' and groanin' so, him, he went over ta her. After he took hisself a look at her, he took out his gun and shot her between da eyes. Den da Patrolman came cross da road, gun in hand, and looked at
me, and said: "How are you feeling?"

"Now what da heck would you say?!"

I can't blame 'da fella'! :-)

Creation

We may not always understand, why things occur as they do. Sometimes we find out later, sometimes we will not find out at all. It usually turns out to be for the best. If they do not, we have ways to give them a twist and turn them to our advantage.

I suppose there is a reason for everything, huh?!

A man said to his wife one day, "I don't know how you can be so stupid and so beautiful all at the same time."

The wife responded, "Allow me to explain. God made me beautiful so you would be attracted to me; God made me stupid so I would be attracted to you! "

Just be prepared, that when you open a door, to expect someone to go through it! :-)

Fruitsy Art II

I can't help but admire all this creativity. It makes me wonder how they got to this. In some cases I can understand, it would be like doodles and scribbles, but other sculpture are absolutely thoroughly considered and are spent lots of time on.

Who said that an apple a day, keeps the doctor away???

Bringing home the bread.

You got to walk on egg shells in this house!

You gotta love this Dolphanana.

Kids can be like carrying a yoke, at times.

A never-wish, haha.

I enjoy these way to much. I was just thinking about getting an apple, carving a face and let it sit for several day. As it dries out and gets wrinkly, it will look just like me, haha.

Purpose Driven

The funniest thing happened yesterday, when the kids and grand sons were over.

While everyone was gathered in the living-room, little Kc wandered off to the kitchen. Both I and his Mom heard him open one of the cabinets and we both got up to see what he was up to and get him out of there.

Before we reached the kitchen, he walked in the living-room, holding the large, plastic canister, where I keep the Cheerios in. He walked straight up to Opa, handed it to him and indicated by hitting on the table a few times, to put some on there. It was his way of asking.

The moment I saw him with the canister, I burst out laughing. I couldn't help it. The firm hold he had on it, that determination in his walk, it was just too adorable and funny.

He even put the canister back where he got it. Yeah, he got some Cheerios. Who would want to stop a little man on a mission?

Not Oma! :-)

A Boy And His Watch

Opa's watch has a light that comes on whenever he pushes the button. It lights up the dial, showing the time. Lil' Kc has been fascinated with it, ever since he was about 8 months old.

He would walk up to Opa, take his arm and start pushing on the watch. He knew there was a light, but was just not aware yet where the button was, so Opa showed him over and over again.

Recently, Opa takes off his watch and puts it on lil' Kc's arm. It is way to big, but he loves it. He knows exactly how to put it on and take it off and does it over and over again.

A little boy with a big watch, walking around as if he just received the most wonderful gift ever. It's so cute. Now, all that is needed is for him to be able to tell time. Oh, no doubt he will get there.

Let's give it a little time. :-)

Fruitsy Art I

We usually think of art in the form of paintings and drawings. Art can be expressed in so many different ways though and can be quite inspirational. Here is some art-work, which is not only totally unexpected, but also very exceptional.

Applefly

Basket-head

Tuned Out

Heavy Burden

Mr. Potato Head

Rebellion

I had not seen these before and considered them very refreshing. Well, they used to be. I am glad we have some pictures of all this creativity before it molded, withered, or was consumed. :-)

Long Conversations

I have heard several babies, at the age of almost 7 months old, cooing and uttering some sounds of sorts. I have never heard one as talkative as our little Leo though!

That little man babbles without ceasing and not just the normal 'Dadadada'. To him, that is nothing. Oh, he throws those out there as well, but he uses every vowel available. For minutes and minutes, he is laying in the play pen, having the best conversation ever. With whom? I don't know, but he sure is enjoying it.

The best is, when he gets feedback. That big grin, as he tries to share his mind, is just sooooo adorable.

Oh dear, I think we may have a not only a little heart-breaker, but also a little conversationalist on our hands, haha.

I don't even want to consider what would happen if we would combine those two! :-)

Loving The Outside

Our little Kc loves to stand in front of the window and watch our dog in the yard. Each time he sees her walk by, he points, turns around to us and says:" Og!" or "uppy", meaning dog, or puppy. When he does not see her around, he knocks on the window and hopes she will hear it and come to check out the noise.

He is accustomed to having a cat around and could get all excited, watching her and dragging her all over the place, literally. Poor cat, she learned to stay out of his way though and he does not see her that much anymore. She is an outside cat.

He sure loves animals and is not afraid of them at all. I hope the weather will cool off soon, so we can spend some time outside again. I know he would love that. He constantly walks up to the door and indicates he wants to go outside.

We ought to get him a little pool! :-)

Something Is Brewing

I know this situation happens. I don't think I could stand it. If I had to go through so much trouble, I would let it go and make good use of the time to brew it myself.

By the time they are finally done arguing, we already could have had several cups. It is just not worth wasting time over.

A man and his wife were having an argument about who should brew the coffee each morning.

The wife said, 'You should do it because you get up first, and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee.'

The husband said, 'You are in charge of cooking around here and you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee.'

Wife replies, 'No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee.'

Husband replies, 'I can't believe that, show me.'

So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament and showed him at the top of several pages, that it indeed says 'HEBREWS'.

I can tell you one thing, all that bickering is not going to get the job done. Another thing is, wait till the husband finds the scripture of Proverbs 31!
